
THRIVE Volunteers help us to keep our organization thriving and deepen our community connections! Volunteers commit to ongoing support for a minimum of one year and are given all training and mentorship to help you thrive in your position! Volunteers typically average about 2 – 4 hours of volunteer time per week. Those who wish to become team leaders after their first year with us (dependent upon position availability) can expect a minimum of 8 – 10 hours weekly to coordinate their team and projects. Requirements
- 18+ years old
- Reliable internet and private working space; volunteers work remotely, globally
- Willingness to complete a minimum of 1 year volunteering with THRIVE, including the estimated weekly hours associated with your position, as detailed below.
- Demonstrated commitment to non-carceral values and multiply marginalized community care.
- Demonstrated commitment to acknowledging and addressing your biases, including depathologizing stigmatized mental health experiences.
- Demonstrated commitment to educating yourself about identities and experiences that you do not share.
- Representation is at the heart of THRIVE. We encourage applications from multiply marginalized people across a breadth of identities and experiences.
Positions
- Social Events Specialist: This volunteer creates and hosts social events for THRIVE team members, including designing community events calendars and communications, and hosting events at least monthly. Estimated time is 2-3 hours per week. Full Description.
- Assistant Volunteer Coordinator: This volunteer will support the volunteer application process with THRIVE, including communicating to interested applicants, completed applicants, and references. Estimated time is 3 hours per week. Must be able to review and reply to applications within 48 hours, so this position requires greater commitment. Full Description.
- Social Media Team Members: This volunteer will design and create social media posts in Canva to share on THRIVE’s Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn pages. Estimated 4 hours per week. Full Description
- Fundraising Specialist: This volunteer will assist with fundraising, helping us to keep providing non-carceral support services to multiply marginalized communities. Full Description

Application Process
Applicants can expect to spend between 30 – 60 minutes completing our volunteer application. Our team reviews applications and responds within 48 hours. We will notify you if we do not currently have capacity. You may be asked for an interview, or in lieu of an interview, to complete a small project that is aligned with the position to which you applied.
