About THRIVE

Who Are We?

THRIVE is Trans-led and operated. We are a globally distributed and fully grassroots group of volunteers and Community Care Practitioners who devote our skills and our lived experience to providing non-carceral support to our communities.

Our backgrounds include surviving suicide and trauma, familial rejection due to our identities, food and housing insecurity, poverty, lack of access to education, immigration, and more. We navigate disabilities, dissociation, PTSD, and other mental health needs and neurodivergencies. We personally live and understand chronic marginalizing experiences.

What makes us different?

We are dedicated to community care, team support, education, and intentional practice. None of us are employed by THRIVE; we all donate time. Our administrators volunteer their time to operational leadership, professional development, and caring for our team. Our practitioners, also people with lived experience, commit to ongoing education, sharing their skills and knowledge, and supporting their team and community members.

Our team are rigorously trained using Stronger U’s donated certificate programs, taught by and for people with intersecting marginalized identities. We hope that when you connect with THRIVE, you will talk to someone who gets it.

Vision

Accessibility: THRIVE Lifeline remains 100% free to users. We believe that access to life-affirming and life-saving resources is crucial.

Mission

THRIVE Lifeline’s mission is to end stigma for people with marginalized identities and close gaps in access to crisis intervention, validation, and resources through whole-human support.

We fulfill our mission by:

  • Providing multiply marginalized community members with qualified and compassionate non-carceral support
  • Normalizing suicidality and depathologizing stigmatized mental health experiences through whole-human practices that anchor people into communities of care
  • Combining lived experience with anonymized data to advocate for systemic changes and provide exhaustive training through a non-carceral lens.

Core Values

  • Accessibility: THRIVE Lifeline support services are 100% free. We believe that access to life-affirming and life-saving resources is crucial.
  • Connection: Often, our community members are ‘the only one’ they know who faces what they face. We provide community anchoring with others of shared identity and experience.
  • Inclusion: Representation matters. Being recognized at the core of who you are is the center of inclusion. Whoever you are, wherever you are from, THRIVE welcomes you.
  • Integrity: We uphold the highest standards of communications, support, and confidentiality, knowing that the heart of our work involves people at their most vulnerable times.
